Fort Scott Community College offers students more than 350 scholarship opportunities.

Apply for Scholarships

Scholarships will be applied before Federal Financial Aid

  1. Apply to Fort Scott Community College, if you haven't already
  2. Go to fortscott.edu/Student
  3. Click GIZMO and sign in with your FSCC ID and PIN
  4. Go to Account Info and select Scholarship Application

 

Scholarships and Bourbon County Tuition Waiver require students to complete the FAFSA and FSCC Scholarship Application annually. Once the awarding process begins, you will receive an email with your scholarship offer, along with terms and conditions, this contract must be accepted and signed.  Additionally, this single application will automatically match you to more than 350 institutional and endowment scholarships offered at FSCC. 

 

Note:

  • Nursing students that are eligible for book scholarships will receive $500.00 per semester
  • Cosmetology students eligible for book scholarships will receive $500.00 for the program ($250.00 per semester).
  • Current Bourbon County High School students are only eligible for the Bourbon County High School Tuition Waiver.
  • FSCC uses Cumulative GPA when deciding academic scholarships. Cumulative GPA is based on High School GPA. Unless the student has completed 12 or more credit hours, then college GPA will be used.
  • Students who are full time and live 60+ miles from FSCC Main Campus and plan on attending Main Campus, must reside in college-approved housing if available. For more information please contact the Director of Housing at 620-223-2700 ext. 3526 or marcim@fortscott.edu.

Kansas Promise Scholarship

The Kansas Promise Scholarship is a last dollar scholarship and assists with costs that institutional or grant scholarships are unable to cover. Recipients must meet all qualifications and complete the application process to be eligible for this opportunity. For more information, please click the 'Kansas Promise Scholarship' link above.
 
 
President Scholarship
Includes:  Tuition, fees, and books up to 15 hours for full-time students (12+ credit hours)
Open to:  Students with a GPA of 3.5 or higher, ACT 23 or higher, and SAT of 1140 or higher
Requirements:  Must complete an interview process, serve as an FSCC President’s Ambassador,
maintain a GPA of 3.5 or higher while enrolled at FSCC.
 

Academic Excellence Scholarship
Includes: Tuition and books up to 15 hours for full-time students (12+ credit hours) 
Open to: Students with a GPA of 3.5 or higher, ACT 21 or higher, SAT 1080 or higher.
Requirements: Maintain a GPA of 3.5 or higher while enrolled at FSCC.

 

Greyhound Advantage Award
Includes: Tuition and books up to 12 hours for full-time students (12+ credit hours)
Open to: Students with a GPA of 2.5 or higher
Requirements: Maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher while enrolled at FSCC.

 

 

Activity Scholarships

Scholarship amount determined by  Activity sponsor

Includes: Tuition and books up to 15 credit hours for full-time students (12+ credit hours)
Open to: Students interested in participating in the following student organizations: Athletic Training, Athletic Manager, Band, Choir, Livestock Judging, Meats Judging, Multimedia Team, Sports Broadcasting, STEAM Club, Cheer/Dance or Theatre.
Requirements: Must meet semester criteria/expectations of the student organization.

 

Maroon and Gray Scholarship
The FSCC Maroon and Gray scholarship is an academic needs-based scholarship. Students must complete a FAFSA application, live in the dorms, and have an unmet need (determined by Financial Aid office) AND GPA of 2.5 or higher. This scholarship will cover up to 15 credit hours of tuition and books per semester. The Maroon and Gray scholarship does not cover room and board or fees. Tuition Waivers

Bourbon County Tuition Waiver

FSCC offers a tuition waiver exclusively for Bourbon County residents who wish to take classes at FSCC. This waiver cannot be combined with academic/activity scholarships or other waivers. This waiver does not include fees and/or books.  The waiver does include concurrent classes taken by high school students.

Includes: Full Tuition waiver for any semester (fall, spring, summer, and intersession classes)

Open to: All permanent residents of Bourbon County, KS

 

Endowment Scholarships
Includes: Dependent upon type of scholarship
Open to: All students with 2.0 or higher GPA unless specified who meet donor criteria
Requirements: Must meet donor criteria. Most scholarships have minimum GPA requirements, often established by the donor. Some scholarships, however, have minimum GPA requirements established by the board of directors of the FSCC Endowment Association.
