Area Request

Fort Scott Community College welcomes members of the community to request rooms for meetings and events. To schedule a room, simply use one of the online request forms below. Please keep in mind that we are a SMOKE-FREE institution at all of our locations. See the lists below for descriptions of each area.

Rules

Priority for usage of FSCC buildings will be given to college-sponsored events.   However other groups/organizations may use FSCC facilities for educational, cultural, charitable, and special events as scheduling permits.

  1. FSCC, USD 234, and other Bourbon County schools’ reservations take precedence over all others. 
  2. Reservations should be made at least two weeks in advance for necessary approval. 
  3. FSCC reserves the right to cancel any and all activities previously scheduled. 
  4. All Reservations are required to be made electronically through our website. Phone call reservations will not be accepted (situational circumstances will be considered).
  5. Reservations are not considered ‘agreed to’ until you have received an email confirmation that your request has been approved and a deposit has been made
  6. Persons making reservations will be held responsible for any damage to facilities or equipment.   All organizations must have a designated supervisor responsible for equipment and facility.
  7. Moving of furniture in any building is prohibited unless otherwise arranged by FSCC Maintenance. 
  8. The use of tobacco products are prohibited in FSCC buildings.
  9. Alcohol and firearms are not allowed on the FSCC campus, facilities or property, except as approved.
  10. Facilities are expected to be in the same condition as found.   All trash must be put in the trash receptacles provided.
  11. No decorations are allowed on the walls without permission. 

Safety Regulations

For and in consideration of the use of facilities or premises of Fort Scott Community College (FSCC) during the COVID-19 pandemic, all possible organizations or responsible parties reserving an area agrees to the following terms and conditions: 

*NOTE: “Area Request Safety Regulations Agreement” can be found and must be signed in the “Area Request” form located at the bottom of the page.

1. It will comply with the requirements of state and federal law that exist during the occupancy of FSCC facilities and premises and will ensure that any person attending any event also complies with these requirements. This includes, if applicable, strict following of social distancing guidelines, the use of protective equipment,  clothing and masks, and the screening of participants through questioning and the taking of temperature of participants.

2. It understands that there is no way that FSCC can allow the voluntary use of its facilities and premises to create any liability for FSCC for the practices followed by the undersigned. Therefore, the organization or responsible party shall have liability insurance covering any possible pandemic related claims, and shall save, indemnify and hold FSCC harmless from any claims made by its employees, agents, officers or participants for illness, injury or death related to any use of the facilities, including any claim that any person contracted COVID-19 or related illnesses while preparing for or attending an event, or contracted COVID-19 or related illnesses after or as a result of coming in contact with someone who attended an event or which was initiated at an event hosted by the organization or responsible party on FSCC facilities or premises.

Catering

All events that need catering MUST go through FSCC Great Western Dining Services and Catering. If Great Western Dining Services and Catering cannot cater that event at that time, then you may bring in an outside caterer. Please contact our Food Service at 620.223.2700 ext. 5071 with any questions.

Fine Arts Center Fees

Theatre:

  • $50 per hour for use of the stage-no special setup
  • $75 per hour for use of the stage, backstage, and dressing rooms-no special setup
  • $100 per hour for use of the stage, backstage, and dressing rooms WITH special setup
  • $15 per hour for custodial services
  • $25 starting fee for tech support (required). ONLY THE FSCC THEATRE DIRECTOR AND/OR FSCC I.T IS ALLOWED TO RUN THE SOUND BOOTH
    • ​​The FSCC Theatre Director will discuss the event with the user’s designated contact person in order to determine the technical requirements for the event. Users are asked to designate only ONE person to coordinate the event in order to streamline the process.

Individual Meeting Rooms:

  • $50 per hour
  • $15 per hour custodial fee

All Meeting Rooms:

  • $150 per hour
  • $15 per hour custodial fee
  • $25 starting fee for tech setup (if needed)- additional $25 per hour if tech support is required to be there

Weddings

  • $1,000 flat fee which includes 5 hours of the use of the Lobby and Meeting Rooms.
    • Every hour past five hours is an additional $100 per hour
  • $500 deposit is due once the reservation request is approved
  • $500 refundable security deposit is required to ensure the cost of repair of any damages done to the building during the event
  • FSCC’s Great Western Dining  will be used for any on-site catering. The user is responsible for contacting FSCC Food Service to make arrangements. No outside food is allowed unless approved by Great Western Dining
  • Tables and chairs will be provided contingent on number and type needed and availability 
  • Trash bags/receptacles will be provided for cleanup
    • If basic cleanup (i.e. all trash is in a trash bag and ready to be dumped) is not taken care of after the reception, the FSCC will charge $50 an hour for cleanup.
