Blake Shepard Benefit Game

Fort Scott Community College student and baseball player Blake Shepard passed away Monday night. Shepard was a freshmen from Ponca City, OK.


Head baseball coach, John Hill writes, "After 8 days of struggle, his body gave out and he is now in a better place than any of us."


Bo Casper named FSCC’s 2015 Outstanding Young Alumnus

Fort Scott, KS- Fort Scott Community College is pleased to name Bo Casper as the 2015 Young Alumnus of the Year.  The FSCC Alumni and Friends Board selected Casper for this honor.


Head Rodeo Coach Chad Cross and former Young Alumnus honoree said, “My greatest hope as a coach is that my students will grow into good citizens that give back to our communities.”

FSCC alum and steer wrestler, Stewart Gulager wins big at The American.

Fort Scott, KS- Stewart Gulager came in at 4.2 seconds and first place in RFD-TV’s The American semi-final, shootout steer wrestling competition on Sunday, February 22.  This was good enough to win Stewart Gulager a $25,000 pot and a slot in The American’s finals held next week in Dallas.


Fort Lincoln School House fundraising complete, work to begin in spring.

Fort Scott, Kansas – Fundraising is complete for the renovation of the Fort Lincoln School House. $5500 was raised for repairs to the one-room schoolhouse that sits on the northeast corner of the Fort Scott Community College campus.


Donors to the project included the Knights of Columbus, the City of Fort Scott, Rotary, the DuVall Family and many other individuals.

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day activities at FSCC announced

Fort Scott, KS- Fort Scott Community College will observe Martin Luther King, Jr. Day with a “Lunch and Learn” presentation on Monday, January 19, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Gordon Parks Museum. The hour’s program will feature a short film on Dr. King and a talk given by LaShawn Miller, Mercy Hospice social worker and volunteer coordinator. Ms.
