He was also able to create a nationally competitive meat judging team by coaching a State Reserve Champion team two consecutive years. One of those teams went on to place 2nd in the National competition in Denver, CO.
Edgecomb grew up on a small cow/calf farm near Williamsburg, KS. His meat judging career started in high school before he was recruited to Coffeyville Community College to judge on the Meat Judging team. After completion of his Associates degree at CCC, Edgecomb transferred to Kansas State University where he continued to work on his Bachelor's of Science degree in Agriculture with a major in Agriculture Education and Agriculture Economics. During his work at KSU, Edgecomb participated one of the most consistent meat judging teams in KSU history as they placed in the top 3 in every contest they participated. Edgecomb also has his Master's of Science degree from Kansas State University in Secondary Education.
