The Fort Scott Community College Financial Aid office is ready to help you find out if you qualify for assistance.

Students interested in applying for Federal Financial Aid should begin the process by completing the FAFSA free application for Federal Student Aid at www.fafsa.gov.

In addition, apply for your secure PIN number to access your information online by registering with the government's website at www.pin.ed.gov.

The Commercial Truck Driving Program at FSCC is not eligible for financial assistance through Pell Grants or Student Loans.

Fort Scott Community College does not participate in any alternative or private student loan programs. We only certify Direct Subsidized, Unsubsidized, and PLUS (parent) loans.

Federal Direct Loan Applications for 2011 - 2012

Click on the www.studentloans.gov to complete both the Entrance Counseling and Master Promissory Note (MPN). Your FAFSA pin is required. Your loan will NOT disburse until these two documents are complete!

Priority date for award letter by 1st day of class:

To insure that the financial aid office has adequate time to complete a student’s financial aid award letters by the 1st day of class, students need to have met all requirements. The requirements are as follows: all requested documents if selected for verification, all previous college transcripts, and any other information that may be required. These must be turned into the FSCC financial aid office before the priority date*. Students must also maintain satisfactory academic progress. Please keep in mind financial aid refunds are not released on the first day of school. Disbursements for both Pell and loans will be announced. Text messages will be sent when dates are released. To receive the text message, please sign up for Textcaster located on the main webpage.
