Student Support Services
What Services are Provided?
  • Tutoring and Supplemental Instruction are available for students who may be struggling in a difficult course. SSS has trained tutors to assist you in making a passing grade.

  • Mentoring is provided to all SSS participants. Students will benefit from the support and encouragement of interested mentors who guide participants in their educational and career goals.

  • Workshops are offered to provide participants with information that will assist them in meeting their individual educational goals.

  • Orientation is provided for all SSS participants to inform them of available services at FSCC.

  • Campus visits to four-year colleges are scheduled to encourage participants to further their education.

  • Cultural Enrichment Activities are scheduled to provide our participants with new experiences. Trips to museums, theaters, and other special events are offered to SSS participants. These events, sponsored by SSS, are free to the student.

Student Support Services is a TRIO Program funded 100% by the U.S Department of Education. The 2006-07 grant award is $236,500.
