FSCC Invites Area High School Students to Annual Math Contest

Fort Scott, Kan.—Fort Scott Community College will host its seventh annual Math Relays event for area high school students on Thursday, October 13 from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. Students may compete in up to four of the twelve math contests; six of the contests will allow calculators.

 

The public is welcome to attend the closing ceremony at 1:00 pm in the auditorium of the Danny & Willa Ellis Family Fine Arts Center. Every participant will receive a math tag. Individual medals will be awarded for first, second, and third place in each event for each grade level. First, second, and third place plaques, donated by Brandon Malone Plumbing, will be awarded to schools.

 

Registration is due on Friday, September 23, and there are no entry fees. Each school must be represented by at least one sponsor. To register, please contact Kathy Malone, FSCC Math and Science Division Chair, at 620-223-2700, ext. 3210 or kathym@fortscott.edu.
