FSCC Spring Rodeo is set for March

Fort Scott, KS –The Fort Scott Community College (FSCC) Rodeo Team is hosting the 33rd annual Spring Rodeo on March 7-9th at Arnold Arena at the FSCC main campus. Friday, March 7th, events start at 7:30 p.m. On Saturday, March 8th,there is a 1:30 p.m. and a 7:30 p.m. performance. Sunday, March 9th, the all-around will start at 1 p.m. FSCC has approximately 40 rodeo students competing in the upcoming rodeo.

“The team has done really well this year and FSCC rodeo team would appreciate the community’s support,” said Assistant Rodeo Coach Cali Griffin. “Our men’s team is third and women's team ninth in the Central Plains Region.”

Among the competitors, Austin Graham, of Jay, Okla., is first in the bareback, David King, of Hartville, Mo., is fifth in the bull riding and Jaice Cross, of Fort Scott, is fifth in the breakaway in the Central Plains Region.

As a fundraiser, the FSCC Rodeo Team is selling chances to win a quarter beef. This is all natural beef raised by Colby Stock. Beef tickets will be available at the rodeo as well as sold directly from each rodeo student.
