About the Medical Office Assistant Certificate

The medical office assistant certificate, offered by Fort Scott Community College, prepares students to enter the job market for health information and medical record technicians. Classroom instruction and actual work experience blend the academic and the practical to prepare individuals for challenging work opportunities. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of health information technicians is projected to grow 22 percent from 2012 to 2022, much faster than the average for all occupations. The demand for health services is expected to increase as the population ages.
