This is Stasha Richard’s first year as Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Fort Scott Community College.

Richard’s previous coaching experience includes her most recent position as an assistant coach with the Eastern Kentucky Women’s Basketball Team.  Before Eastern Kentucky, Richards was an assistant at Clarendon College in Texas, where she helped the team to the Region 5 play-offs in 2006.  Her first coaching position came in 2005 as an assistant for Crockett High School where Richards helped the team to a district championship.

As a player Richards was a three year starter at Baylor University and played in over 100 games.  Richards earned a bachelor’s degree from Baylor in 2004.  While at Baylor her teams were part of the NCAA tournament in two seasons and advanced to the 2003 WNIT title game her senior year.

Richards, a Texas Association of Basketball Coaches All-State honoree was a four-year letter winner at North Shore High School in Houston where she scored over 1,000 career points during her prep career and was honored to the All-District First Team. She was also listed as the 46th best player in the nation in 1999, her senior year, by the Blue Star Report.
