Fort Scott Community College has developed a strong Intercollegiate Meats Judging Program that allows its students to compete in a series of contests around the Midwest. The contests are sponsored by the American Meat Science Association and various processing facilities.

FSCC Meat Judgers have the opportunity to compete and travel to Beef Empire Days contest held in Garden City, KS, the American Royal Contest held in Emporia, KS, the Cargill Meat Solutions Contest held in Plainview, TX, the National Western Contest held in Greely, CO, the Southwestern Stock Show Contest held in Fort Worth, TX, and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Contest held in Houston, TX.

These students are awarded scholarships that can include Books and Tuition, as well as, academic scholarships. Please contact Ryan Edgecomb for more information.
