Aaron Dobbins has seven years of coaching experience under his belt at both the high school and college levels. A native of New Port Richey, Florida, Dobbins is FSCC’s new linebacker coach.
Dobbins comes to Fort Scott from the University of West Georgia in Carrollton, Georgia where he was the defensive graduate assistant and linebacker coach. The University of West Georgia is the perennial powerhouse of the Gulf South Conference in Division II.
From 2005 to 2006 Dobbins served as the running back coach and special teams coordinator at Assumption College in Worcester, Massachusetts. While at Assumption he coached NE-10 Freshman of The Year, and All-American Austin Davis. His special teams also led the conference in several categories.
Dobbins has also coached at River Ridge High School, and Wesley Chapel High School in Pasco County, Florida.
Prior to entering the coaching profession Dobbins was a standout player at Division 1-FCA powerhouse Appalachian State University. He was part of four playoff teams (1998-2001) with the Mountaineers, including the team that reached the national semi-finals in 2000. He also helped earn a Southern Conference title in 1999. While at Appalachian State he played under legendary coach Jerry Moore. Dobbins earned his bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Appalachian State University.
In high school Dobbins was an All-Conference standout football player, and wrestler at River Ridge High School. He helped lead his team to two state playoff appearances, and still holds several records at the school. |
