Eddie Brown returns to Fort Scott bringing with him over 20 years of coaching and playing experience to help the Greyhounds win a championship in 2008.
Brown brings coaching experience from New York State, Broadripple and North Central High Schools in Indianapolis, Indiana. In 2006 Brown joined the coaching staff of the 5A Ben Davis High School Giants in Indianapolis as the varsity wide receivers coach for the 2006-2007 season. In 2007, he was also the head coach of the AF2 Fort Wayne Fusion.
"Touchdown" Eddie Brown is a former Arena Football offensive specialist in the wide receiver position. Brown played for the Albany Firebirds from 1994 to 2001, and moved with the franchise to Indianapolis, Indiana where he played for three more years from 2001 to 2003. In January 2006, the AFL celebrated its 20th anniversary and Brown was voted the greatest player in league history.
Originally from Miami, Florida Brown started his collegiate career at Fort Scott Community College where he was an All-American in 1988. After attending FSCC, Brown transferred to Louisiana Tech University for his final two years of college. During his time at Louisiana Tech, Eddie became the only player in school history to score a touchdown in every way possible; pass reception, rushing, kickoff return, punt return, interception, and fumble recovery. After college Brown was signed by the NFL Arizona Cardinals and was on the practice squad in 1991.
Coach Brown resides in Ft. Scott with his wife Heather and newborn daughter Ella. His 5 year-old daughter Jada Brown lives in New York. |
