Coach Moddelmog begins his fifth year at the helm of the Greyhounds. Here are some highlights of Coach Mog’s last four seasons at Fort Scott and his two year stay at Rend Lake College.
  • Fort Scott has won 68 games the last two seasons
  • Fort Scott made the Region tournament in 2007 after winning our first round series
  • Fort Scott has produced 16 Division I players over the past four years
  • Fort Scott has placed players in the Big 12, Sun Belt, Missouri Valley, Big Ten, WAC, MAC, Ohio Valley, Mid-Continent, MIAA, Lonestar and others
  • Fort Scott has had 3 All-Region and 12 all-conference players the past two seasons
  • Fort Scott had the Freshman of the Year in the Jayhawk East in 2007
  • Fort Scott has had a team GPA of over 3.0 the past four years and had the best GPA in the country in 2004 (3.32)
  • Fort Scott is a proud member of the Jayhawk Conference and Region VI
  • Rend Lake finished 2nd and 3rd in the region during his two years and made a trip to the Region 24 tournament in 2002
  • Rend Lake received votes in the NJCAA top 20 in 2002
  • Rend Lake produced 3 draft picks, 16 All-Conference, seven All- Region and one All-American
  • Coach Mog has coached 15 players who have gone on to play pro baseball
  • Coach Mog is an associate scout for the Colorado Rockies
A native of Fort Collins, Colorado, Chris was an infield starter for two seasons at Murray State University. He began his collegiate career at Neosho County Community College in Kansas where he captured Jayhawk Conference all-star honors as a sophomore.

He is a 1994 graduate of Murray State University with a Bachelor’s degree in public relations and a Master’s in mass communications. Coach Mog served as an assistant at Murray State from 1995-1997 before moving on to Belmont University in June of 1997 as the top assistant. He quickly became one of the finest recruiters in the area, helping bring Belmont four winning seasons in the first four years of NCAA play. As the recruiting coordinator, Moddelmog brought in not only the finest local players but players from all over the country. He was a fixture at summer baseball camps across the Midwest and South. He is married to the former Mallory McClure of Mt. Vernon and they have two daughters, Mia, who was born April 20, 2001 and Emma Grace born on May 27, 2005. The Moddelmogs reside in Fort Scott.
