FSCC Migrant Program offers GED for Free!
About the High School Equivilency Program
Migrant workers & their children who would like to earn their GEDs may qualify to participate in FSCC's Free High School Equivalency Program (HEP).

If you are a migrant worker or child of a migrant worker in Kansas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Iowa, Missouri or Nebraska, and if you have not completed your high school education, you may be eligible to participate in the Fort Scott Community College (FSCC) High School Equivalency Program (HEP). The HEP program provides lots of opportunities.

How the Program Works
It's simple, students come to Fort Scott Community College in Fort Scott, Kansas., where we offer a residential education program for migrant workers and their children. The FSCC program, the High School Equivalency Program (HEP), gives participants the opportunity to study and complete their GED for FREE!

Students who have participated in the Fort Scott Community College HEP program have also learned life skills that have helped them to cope with everyday problems in their own lives.

While in Fort Scott, in addition to studying for the GED exams, students are able to attend cultural and social events that they otherwise may not have been able to participate in.

In addition to the activities and studying, by residing in the FSCC dormitory for the session, participants are able to develop independent living skills while making new friends. FSCC also has several off-campus sites where you can live at home and drive to a center to work on your GED.

Enrollment for the Program

So how do you get signed up? Well, it's easy! Participants in HEP must be over the age of 17-years-old.

At the end of the training period, students are expected to take the GED exams.

But the best thing about this program--all of this training, including the cultural activities and testing is at no cost to the participant. You actually get paid to study!

Session Dates Call 1-888-FSCC HEP (1-888-372-2437) for the upcoming session dates!
