Dental Hygienist-Associate Degree Description:
The Dental Hygienist program prepares graduates to work with dentists as they examine and treat patients. Most dental hygienists work in general or specialized dental offices, either for individual dentists or for groups of dentists.

Potential occupations include: Dental Sales Representative, Dental Hygienists (Private and Institutional), Dental Office Manager and Education.

The curriculum includes content in:
General Education, Biomedical Sciences, Dental Sciences and Dental Hygiene Science

Graduates are competent in:

  • providing the dental hygiene process of care which includes assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation for private and community based oral health programs.
  • providing dental hygiene care for the child, adolescent, adult, geriatric and medically compromised patient.
  • providing dental hygiene care for all types of classifications of periodontal disease.
  • applying ethical, legal and regulatory concepts to the provision and/or support of oral health care services.
