Admission Procedures |
To be admitted into the Ag Tech program requires three things. First you must be eligible for a degree at
FSCC, (you must have a high school diploma or GED). Second, you must have a sponsoring dealer and a signed
dealer agreement. Third, you must pass the entrance exam and be accepted by the John Deere Company.
Just a few words about your sponsoring dealer. Try to get a sponsor close to home if possible. This will
help defray living expenses when you are completing your internships.
Entrance Testing ProcessThe first step in the testing process is to contact FSCC and make an appointment
to test. You can do that by calling (800) 874-3722.
The application for admission to the college does not mean that you have been accepted into the John
Deere Ag Tech program.
Then you will be given a series of assessment tests. The tests will assess skills in reading, math and
mechanical reasoning. The tests are used by the college to insure proper placement so that students have
an opportunity to succeed.
The Ag Tech program uses John Deere publications as its textbooks. The students will be at the dealerships
working within five months and we need to be sure that our students have the raw skills to use those
sources of information. That is why we look at the tests carefully. |
